Meet Us
Rob Vecsi, MS PT, CSCS
I’m Robert Vecsi, and I earned my Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2000 from the College of Staten Island, where I graduated with the college’s Award for Highest Academic Honors in Physical Therapy. I immediately dove into orthopedic and manual therapy, and over the past 25 years, I’ve developed a deep expertise in treating sports injuries and spinal conditions. My post-graduate training at the University of St. Augustine focused on spinal assessment and manipulation, as well as sport-specific and functional training, and I became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2001. As an avid cyclist, runner, and cross trainer myself, I bring personal insight to treating active individuals who want to get back to their peak performance.
Why I Started My Own Practice
Sixteen years ago, I opened my boutique physical therapy studio on 5th Avenue in Manhattan, driven by a frustration I witnessed in traditional clinic settings. Working at larger practices, I could only spend 10 to 15 minutes maximum of direct patient-therapist contact before patients were passed off to aides or assistants. I watched people become frustrated by the limited interaction and saw that they weren’t responding as well as they could. New Yorkers deserve—and demand—more. I knew my patients were getting better, but they weren’t getting the attention they expected from their physical therapy. That’s why I built a practice centered entirely on 60-minute, one-on-one sessions with no interruptions, no aides, and no shortcuts.
My Treatment Philosophy
My approach goes beyond simply treating symptoms. I treat each session as a “mini-evaluation,” continuously monitoring your progress and adjusting your program to accelerate healing. Through comprehensive biomechanical assessments, I identify the underlying weaknesses or movement patterns contributing to your condition, because the body doesn’t move in isolation. My goal is to make you an informed partner in your rehabilitation—giving you the tools to resolve your current limitations and, more importantly, understanding why your injury happened and how to prevent it from recurring. Whether you’re a competitive athlete, weekend warrior, or someone managing chronic pain, you deserve focused, expert care that produces real, lasting results.
